This was from a few years ago.

I worked for a small company that hired a new CIO (our first) who I reported to since I was the network admin at the time.

So she gets a new laptop with all the bells and whistles and I setup her new office on the first day.

Her second day I am sitting at my desk and she calls me and tells me that the network is down and I need to fix it immediately. After checking that I could get to my favorite websites I decided I would walk up to her office which was on the other side of the building.

Walking in I see that she had jammed the Ethernet cable into the serial port and wondered why she couldn't get connected and after plugging it into the correct port I walked away shaking my head wondering why she was making over $100,000 more than me.
