A woman called complaining about the free dial-up service we provided her husband. (Note: Her husband, not her!)
After some troubleshooting the truth of the matter was arrived upon... the email message she could not get had a large attachment, and she was trying to open it on a Mac Color Classic. That's right friends, a genuine antique in the computer world, there are floppy disks with more harddrive space than that computer. The attachment was larger than her storage on her computer.
Tried to explain this.
Her: So you're saying your service is inadequet!
Me: No ma'am, your computer simply doesn't have enough room to download that file, maybe if you tried another computer...
Her: AOL Works fine on my son's G4!
Me: Ma'am, our service would also work fi*
Her: *cutting me off* I want to cancel our service!
So... we did. Cancelled her free service.
She called back a few minutes later having trouble setting up AOL on the old mac. My coworker cheerfully told her to call AOL. I feel so sorry for whomever at AOL got that call.
