I do telephonic internet and email support for a ISP, one Saturday a very irate woman phones in demanding to know why our company had cut off her internet. For a client to know this is almost impossible because the error message that comes up on her pc, will be a username and password error message.
The woman continues to scream at me and finally when she finishes ranting and raving the following conversation took place:
Me: How do you know we that our company has cutt off your internet?;
Client: BECAUSE MY MODEM TOLD ME SO!!
All of a sudden the penny dropped, she had not paid her telephone account and the "voice" which She heard was a pre-recorded message telling her to pay her telephone account.
