I work in the advertising sales department of a midsized newspaper. One day I hear a Sales Rep talking on the phone to one of the staff graphic designers. Apparently he had sent down an image he had gotten off of a client's website to use in an ad. The designer was saying that it was not big enough. His voice got louder as he got more and more frustrated talking to the designer. "What do you mean you can't make it two inches wide. Liiiiiisten! I am looking at it RIGHT NOW on MY screen and it exactly two inches wide!" Silence as the designer tries to explain. He's not listening because he's taking a ruler out of his desk and holding it up to the screen. "No no no, listen. It is two inches wide. Stop whining and make it work!"
By the time the Sales Rep came into work that day there was an angry voicemail from the customer who had seen the ad. He immediately called the designer, furious. The conversation from the day before pretty much repeated itself.
