This is a stupid thing that happened to my roommates and I:
The apartment we lived in was a loft apartment so it had 20ft ceilings and two gigantic windows that went to the top(single-paned windows by the way). The apartment was in Texas and it was August and very hot (even at night). On a Friday night, the A/C stopped working. It would blow air but it was not cold air. We figured we could wait until Monday and maintenance would come fix it. Went to bed that night only to wake up in the middle of the night drenched in my own sweat (happened to my room mates as well). We called the places emergency line and told the lady we had to have an A/C tech come out right away. After arguing with her for a few minutes, she finally agreed to get someone to come out. They got there a few hours later. The tech came in and looked at the A/C, then headed for the breaker box. "There's your problem!" Apparently the blower and the A/C unit were on separate breakers and the A/C breaker had blown!!! We told the guy sorry since he missed dinner with his family for this call. He said no problem, I charge overtime and minimum of 1 hour work!!
