Exactly why I stopped helping out non-technical friends and family.
I have built a very well priced computer for a mate's parents in need, decent machine, all parts well-suited and in their sweet-spot pricing. No major problems, but they go off their tree later in the year when their house is struck by lightning and kills, among other things, the computer.
Some how my fault because I suggested a surge protector instead of insisted.
Now I just tell people to buy a Dell.
