Client called in that she is launching video from out Companies main page, it opens in Windows Media player. She says all she can hear is the sound, no video. So I remote over to the clients machine, close the open Media Player and relaunch the video from the page, No video, but the connection through our remote normally disables the video. I try the video on my PC, it works.
So I upgrade the Windows Media Player, reboot the clients machine and try again, she says she is still only hearing the sound. After a few moments of tinkering with the display functions, changing the resolution and after a few moments of silence the following occurs:
SC(stupid client): Would the monitor not being on becausing this"
Me: Excuse me?
SC: I have two monitors, but I turn the second one off because of my melanoma.
Me: Yeah the Media player is opening on the right monitor, is that the one that is off?
SC: Right.
So I move the Media Player to the left and low and behold, she can see the video. This is why I am getting out of help desk, people like this can give you grey hair.
