Keep in mind that this is a professor, this person is entrusted with teaching at an institution of higher learning.

Me: Thank you for calling XXX University Technical Support how may I help you?
FACULTY Member: Yes, is there a problem with Yahoo?
Me: I don't know, why? Are you experiencing some trouble? (normally I would say that that would be a question to pose to Yahoo itself but we changed some firewall settings that goofed up AOL the other day so I thought I would check)
FM: I tried to sign into my email but it just gives me an hourglass.
Me: OK, let's see if this is an issue with Yahoo or an issue with your network, can you go to google.com for me.
FM: No, I'm sorry, I'm preparing for a class and don't have time.
Me: ....OK? Um...well, let me check over here and see if I can get in.
FM: OK *waits patiently*
Me: I am able to get into my Yahoo mail account. Are you on wired or wireless internet?
FM: What? I don't know.
Me: OK, can you please try google.com really quick for me, I need to know if this is an issue with Yahoo or your connection.
FM: No, I have an email that I need for my class and I really don't have time.
Me: OK...well, all that I can do is put in a ticket and have someone come out there later to take a look.
FM: Oh that would be wonderful...wait...OK, it is working now. Thank you.
Me: *blinks*...
