The student computer lab at my University was full of 4-year old Acer Veriton PCs, until they were replaced over the Xmas break with new Dells.
So first day of term a student rushes up to the helpdesk desperate to know where the old computers were. We told him we'd disposed of them, they'd gone to a charity and we couldn't get them back even if we wanted to (which we didn't). He then got even more distressed, nearly crying, demanding to know what brand name they were.
WTF? Why should he care what brand name they were?
Turns out he used "Veriton" as his password, since he was too useless to remember anything else, and this word was printed on the front of every computer he used at Uni. So now he couldn't remember his password.
I wonder what he uses now... "Dell" is too short to use as a password on our system...
