Oops, the ending of the last one made no sense because I stuffed up the dialogue attributions. Sorry for the re-post!
One of our team leaders is one of those senior staffers who has been here so long she seems to spend more time on long service leave than she does actually in the office. I dread her going away, because management always chooses the same staff member to fill in for her.
Every time she fills in, I need to explain her job to her again. *sigh*
Temp team-leader: "What's wrong with this system? It's assigned me cases for people who aren't in my team."
Me: "Could you open the case for me?"
TTL: "But they're not on my team!"
Me: "Please just open it up for me." . . . "Okay, see how it has a temporary after-hours delegation assigned to it?"
TTL: "Yes! They're not on my team!"
Me: "Right, but the actual owner of this case is. The system is notifying you that someone has a requested temporary ownership of a case owned by a member of your team. You need to approve it."
TTL: "But she isn't on my team!"
Me: "No, the temp owner isn't, but the actual owner is."
TTL: *light very slowly starts to dawn* "Okay, so what do I have to do with it?"
Me: "I don't know - that's your job."
