My sister in law brought me a laptop that she "dropped". It was in a plastic sack and she asked if I could fix it. The thing was SMASHED, the screen was shattered and the keyboard was in pieces and there were miscellaneous plastic parts in the sack. I told her it was broken beyond repair and I didn't ask how she "dropped" it. She did ask me to take the hard drive out and try to get all her files off of it. I took it home and plugged it into another computer and set it on my table when I noticed it wobbled like a chair with one leg shorter than the other three. The hard drive from this laptop was actually warped and bent. Luckily I was able to recover her files from it and took it back to her, and cautiously asked how it got broken. She said "Well, I didn't really drop it. We (her and her husband) were fighting and I threw it at him out in the street and he drove his truck over it."
